ASK ME ANYTHING

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT OUR FIRST SESSION?

I pride myself in being a part of your pet's wellness team and though not required I do strongly recommend a veterinary referral so that I am fully aware of how to best serve your pet and their current health issues. Initial consultation will include a conversation regarding your pet's diet, exercise, lifestyle and gait analysis.  Full body palpation will  allow me to identify areas of concern such as scarring, trigger points and muscle tone prior to massage.  Massage will then follow understanding that each animal is an individual so no session is ever the same as I will adapt to the pets needs at that time.  Post-massage I will provide you with aftercare instructions and an opportunity to ask questions.  If a veterinary referral was done I will update your veterinarian with my session notes.

WHERE DO YOU DO YOUR MASSAGES?

I travel to you so that I can provide your pet with a massage session in the comfort of their own home.  If you take your pet to work arrangements can be made to come to your office.  If your pet is hospitalized I can communicate with your veterinarian to provide services in clinic.

WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?

The base price for massage is $50 plus a travel fee dependent on location.  Package discounts are available and sessions are tailored to your pet's specific needs.  Other services (aromatherapy and in home supportive care are available.  Please call for further information.

WHY MASSAGE?

Alternative therapies like massage may seem that we are simply pampering our furry friends, but massage can be an effective tool in promoting optimum wellness for your pet.  Veterinarians are implementing massage to help alleviate pain from hip dysplasia, osteoarthritis, epilepsy and more.  While we often think that massage is best suited for our senior pets that may have limited mobility and stiff muscles, it is also for the athletic dog of any age.  Massage at any age can help to restore flexibility and range of motion, prevent injury and provide relaxation and mental focus.

WHY THE NAME BALANCED ANIMAL MASSAGE?

Balance is the key to life and if you are anything like me that can be a struggle.  I firmly believe and have experienced with my own pets and clients that a balanced approach to our pet's health is key as we strive for them to reach optimal wellness.  Modalities such as traditional veterinary medicine, complimentary modalities of massage, acupuncture, aromatherapy and laser therapy are all useful tools in a balanced approach to helping our pet's reach a state of homeostasis/ balance both mentally and physically.  My experience and connections with other professionals offering the above modalities allows me to help you provide a balanced approach to your pet's wellness plan.
